Maria Lopez was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2019 after receiving her Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in May 2019. Maria received her Bachelor of Science in the Administration of Justice from California State University, East Bay. She is a member of the California Lawyers Association (CLA) and the East Bay Trusts & Estates Lawyers (EBTEL).

Eight years prior to pursuing law school, Maria worked as a paralegal at Mitchell & Batchelder, which offers legal services such as personalized estate planning, trust administration, probate, and tax law.

During law school, Maria was on the dean’s list and received several awards: CALI Award for Excellence in Writing & Research I; Witkin Award for Excellence in Writing & Research II; and, CALI Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy. Maria was an Appellate Advocacy Competition semifinalist in Spring 2018. She also received the 2019 Scribes American Society of Legal Writers Award.

Maria enjoys camping, biking, and loves morning walks. She is a mother to two beautiful girls and a wife to a wonderful husband.
